Hill Country Help Desk founder, Matt Mendoza, has always had a passion for technology. He started his career as an applications developer in the late 90s. In 2006 he was hired by Dell where he worked in a variety of roles over 14 years. Leveraging his Computer Science Education from DePaul University, he was successful in all roles and in particular developed into a technical datacenter specialist.
Moreover, the last 7 of his 14 years at Dell were spent developing business with one of Dell’s top channel partners. This experience with a top VAR/MSP exposed Matt to massive fortune 500 customers and how they consumed IT. It was very different than midmarket customers because these enterprise class customers worked with a technology partner and created a true solution of people/process/technology that enabled them to minimize downtime and threats in their organization. This partnership is one of the inspirations for Hill Country Help Desk.
Matt left Dell in 2020 and transitioned to a data protection specialist with Arcserve before starting Hill Country Help Desk. At Arcserve, Matt was exposed to the next evolutions in data protection strategy and learned the latest technology to protect and recover from ransomware and other cyber-attacks.
Matt is married and has 3 children living in Wimberley. He grew up in Austin and is a Westlake High School Alumni. He loves music, playing guitar, and being outdoors with his bloodhound Big Red.
